Why You Must Plan Your Career NOW !!!!

We all know countries do  have development goals and they achieve these goals through strategic planning and budgeting.


Companies also have marketing plans, business plans etc to advance their growth.


In the 21st century Individuals are now expected to have these plans in place allow you monitor trend in the competitive labour market, confidence in explain with evidence your knowledge, expertise and ability to do the job you are applying for.


DO NOT leave this too late until you are applying - These are best started when you get into university education.


Besides, your academic education takes the better part of your time at University as you spend 90 percent of the time working on Academics Knowledge with little or no time to develop your Expertise (Hard Skills) and Social skills  (Soft Skills)


A lot of students have ignored or undermined this vital aspect of career building. In this day an age, during recruitment exercises, 95 percent of organisation now focus more on skills and your ability to do the job. So there is less emphasis on your knowledge that you have spent 98 percent of the time building  whilst at University.


That explains why organisations don't advertise positions because 90 percent of graduates are unqualified for these jobs and more so, these organisations would prefer not  to spend money retraining staff  to perform their roles.

Exploring the job market will then be so much easier!


First, look at your professional development: recall your achievements, list your skills and evaluate your strengths - in other words, take note of everything you’ve acquired through your professional and personal experiences so far.


Doing this will strengthen your confidence in yourself and your talents!


 

Based on this assessment, you’ll then be able to determine your career plan. Not only will you be able to identify your target profession, but also your preferred sectors of activity, type of company and regions or countries, all adapted to your ambitions as well as your skills, experiences and abilities.

Lastly, you’ll explore the job market, find out what it can offer and what may suit you best. The aim is to achieve the goals you have set for yourself. There are many realities in the work world; it is up to you to monitor job offers, observe trends, take risks and meet new people. All this will help things to fall into place and allow you to find what's right for you.


By the end of the course, you will be able to:
